To Travel or Not to Travel, that is the question!

It has been a widely known trend for Millennials nowadays to impose a travel experience with all means possible per year at the very least. Although this is a good boost to tourism on most countries, the habit might actually backfire 5-10 years from now. Here is a list of things to check whether you have already traveled or still planning things right now.

1. Identify your objective
Some people travel to relax while others do this along with their work. Some would visit their relatives nearby while some are after that big goal to get there and they have earned and worked hard for it. So what is your objective? If this happens to be relaxing, make sure that the backlog of work or responsibilities after you get back would be manageable. And if you really wish to travel soon, why not end up with a career that comes along with it.

2. Identify your financial stability
We all have that dream city that we work hard for but if this would result to the absence of a contingency fund, postponing it won't hurt. Remember, you need to have fund that is enough to sustain you for 3 months without any income considered. So if you still don't have enough contingency fund yet, make one more last stretch and save for the rainy days before you prioritize leisure travel.

3. Identify your priorities
Travel can be a tricky aspect to assess when it comes to priorities. Some would consider it an investment of your personification while others would consider it as their self-value. Traveling is a healthy breather but if you are trying to escape reality for a while by being on another island instead of having a stable reality where travel comes along with it, you might have to deal with the hassle before. Before traveling, make sure that in terms of priorities, you have not evaded any just to justify this. The repercussions of a travel badly weighed in terms of priorities can be serious and permanent.

Travel wisely!

Rent a House : The Millennial Checklist

This is the Millennial's Checklist when that time comes when moving out is just as practical as staying with your parents. Whether it's due to a career move or a simple psychological growth, moving out could be as stressful as it is exciting. So here's a checklist to help you get through the things that you may have not known or miss on checking on a prospect house.

1. Check the neighbouring establishments and match it to your lifestyle.

You may observe or ask the landlady or caretaker if there are easy access to food on hours where you will most likely be home. It may be a search for an early breakfast or a late night dinner. Know where the grub is. Also, you might want to check on the nearest supermarket and convenience store as well as the nearest hospital or medical care and police stations and government offices in case your need arises.

2. Check the house rules

Some of the landlords are blunt on their house rules or at the very least about which they can recall. Ask for the ones that fit your lifestyle. Do you relatives visit you every now and then? Do you enjoy friends coming over for celebrations and will the house be able to accommodate it? Do you have certain habits or vices that might be too much to some people such as loud music or smoking? Do they welcome pets in case you get gifted with one? If you find them threatened by your questions, pacify them and weigh your options later.

3. Check the water supply

You might not notice it in your home but we all enjoy a good pressure with our shower especially when we're in a hurry. Check everything even if it might get a little dirty in the process. Also, if the rent comes with a contract, make sure they commit to a good supply of water. It can save you a lot of hassle in the future.

4. Check the electric capacity

Although it is best to have an engineer for this, when you're going around the city looking for that perfect second home, you need to know the basics for electric capacity considering the devices and appliances that you will bring with you. Numerous sockets doesn't imply higher electrical capacity. If you have friends in the engineering field, strike a quick chat about all your devices and how many AMPs is needed to make sure that your house can operate fully even on parties or movie dates.

5. Check the terms and conditions of payment

This is the trickiest aspect when looking for the right home. Although we don't want to get ahead with the circumstances, we have to explore the landlady's consideration when rent comes a little late or a little short. Try to weigh if the landlady is comfortable discussing it or not. This will also give you a hint on how badgering they can be when delays get a little longer than what you committed. We had a landlord once whom we had our rent payment delayed for 2days and he cut the electrical supply for one whole day starting at early in the morning while we were asleep. Despite all the talk prior to that instance, he seemed to have forgotten that we have advised him about the delay. So don't go through the trouble of worrying about your appliances when you can figure out how it's all going to be just by asking them their considerations for late payments.

6. Check the dimensions of doors, stairs, hallways, and the pathways around

You might want to be precise when plotting if your things can actually fit to get inside the house one you are moving in. One of the common mistakes is forgetting to check if the cabinets or the furnitures fit once you start moving or how will your things get in.

These are among the vital aspects to check when renting a house. Feel free to share your experiences with us.
