It has been a widely known trend for Millennials nowadays to impose a travel experience with all means possible per year at the very least. Although this is a good boost to tourism on most countries, the habit might actually backfire 5-10 years from now. Here is a list of things to check whether you have already traveled or still planning things right now.
1. Identify your objective
Some people travel to relax while others do this along with their work. Some would visit their relatives nearby while some are after that big goal to get there and they have earned and worked hard for it. So what is your objective? If this happens to be relaxing, make sure that the backlog of work or responsibilities after you get back would be manageable. And if you really wish to travel soon, why not end up with a career that comes along with it.
2. Identify your financial stability
We all have that dream city that we work hard for but if this would result to the absence of a contingency fund, postponing it won't hurt. Remember, you need to have fund that is enough to sustain you for 3 months without any income considered. So if you still don't have enough contingency fund yet, make one more last stretch and save for the rainy days before you prioritize leisure travel.
3. Identify your priorities
Travel can be a tricky aspect to assess when it comes to priorities. Some would consider it an investment of your personification while others would consider it as their self-value. Traveling is a healthy breather but if you are trying to escape reality for a while by being on another island instead of having a stable reality where travel comes along with it, you might have to deal with the hassle before. Before traveling, make sure that in terms of priorities, you have not evaded any just to justify this. The repercussions of a travel badly weighed in terms of priorities can be serious and permanent.
Travel wisely!
